Buhata keeps two ideas apart on purpose, and understanding them takes about two minutes.
Private is the root
Everything starts private. Your entries belong to you, sit on your own device, and stay invisible to everyone in any Space you join, including whoever runs it.
A Space is one shared place
There used to be several kinds of container here, each with its own rules and its own vocabulary, and none of it helped anyone put the groceries on a list. There is one kind now, and it is called a Space.
Your Personal Space is yours alone, it is free, and it never goes away. Beyond that, a Space can be your Household, a trip you are planning with friends, or a Team. Buhata does not ask which. It asks the name.
A Space holds its own entries and its own balance, so a client payment never lands in the grocery budget.
- Free: one Space of each kind
- Plus: up to 3 of each kind
- Premium: up to 6 of each kind
A Winner's Circle win doubles whichever you have while you hold a paid plan or a Circle Pass, so Plus becomes 6 of each and Premium becomes 12. Joining somebody else's Team never uses any of your own allowance. A Household you join counts as one of your Households, since you join it as one of its adults, the same as whoever made it.
What sharing does not share
Money, health, journals and notes always stay each person's own. That holds on every plan, in every Space, and it is a rule in the code rather than a setting somebody could switch off.
Everything else is shared only when you put it in a shared Space on purpose. Nothing you write moves anywhere by accident.
Joining somebody else's Space
You do not need a paid plan to join one. A friend on the free plan can come into your Space, read what is shared there, and tick things off.
The tools a Household holds come with joining it. If you're on Premium, everyone in your Household can use Duty Rotation and make the Handoff Card while they're working in it, and Household X bought for that Household reaches every one of them. Those tools stay in the Household, so they don't open in anybody's Private Space or in another Space, and whoever leaves stops having them.
A seat gives somebody your plan everywhere else too. Premium includes one extra full seat, so the person you live with gets every Premium tool in their own Spaces as well, instead of paying for their own. Plus is one account.
Who sees what
Your Personal Space stays yours even from whoever administers a Space you have joined. Buhata is an adults-only app: every account holder is 18 or over. When somebody outside your household needs to see one thing, you send them a Buhata Share link rather than a login, and the link shows that one thing and nothing else.
Sharing is decided per Space, by you, and the default for anything new is private.
